How I Have Grown as a Learner
Throughout my years at Animas, I have learned how much I value project based learning. Its not only fun and engaging, but a great way for me to grasp concepts taught here. The projects I have done during this first semester has also helped me developed skills and interests. In Biology we studied evolution and how we can interpret history by identifying bones. When I was younger, I had quite a fascination with deer bones, collecting them from behind my house. This connection made me more interested in the subject and was very engaging for me. I know I will have a great year with many connections yet to come!
Advisory Social Styles Reflection
With awareness of your own individual social style, as well as others, comes the ability to have more effective communications and relationships. The[social styles] profile is based upon [my] strengths and gives [me] a chance to see the strengths of [my classmates]. With an awareness of the spectrum of social styles, [I] develop greater tolerance and understanding of other styles, and gain greater versatility in communicating (On the Edge Productions).
I usually like a quieter environment to work in, with as little distractions as possible. Clear directions and focusing on one thing at a time helps me to succeed.
I can be a little shy in front of people or talking to strangers, so communicating with an audience is my biggest struggle.
People who aren't as expressive as others will most likely relate to me effectively. I like people who get to the point faster.
