Travel Skit
This project was a great way to learn Spanish because my class was able to apply travel words we had learned to a skit and perform it in front of a crowd. To start off, we studied new vocabulary for most of the semester. Once we were comfortable using travel (viajar) words in situations like going to the airport (aeropuerto) or taking a shower (ducharse), we split into groups of 4 or 5 to begin creating a skit. My group decided to follow two girls traveling around in Chile. While there, they lose their luggage, meet a penguin (pingüino) and go to a party. After my group edited and revised our script, we practiced and memorized the skit, later to be performed on a stage in front of people...All in Spanish!
This was a really fun project for me because it tested my ability to speak in a foreign language. For me, one of the hardest parts of learning Spanish is speaking it. However, through memorizing and practicing the lines over and over again, I got pretty comfortable with it. Although I still could use some more work with my pronunciation, I feel that this was a great step towards my ability as a Spanish student. |
